A Day in the Life (And It All Started Before 5 a.m.)

People love to ask what a typical day looks like.

The answer is simple:
There is no such thing, it all depends on how late I stayed up watching my Netflix series or reading the book I am into.

Let’s start with mornings.

I wake up every day at 4:45 a.m.
Well… technically.

In reality, I snooze until somewhere between 5:00 and 5:15, which normally annoys my husband to no end.
So thank God for him — and also thank God he doesn’t have to hear that alarm right now.

Today?
No snoozing.
I woke up at 5:00 a.m. sharp, feeling productive, motivated, and clearly way too confident.

My normal routine is simple:

  • Get up
  • Make the coffee
  • Let the dogs out while it’s brewing
  • Wash my face
  • Start the day

Not today.

Today, I let the dogs out…
Shut the door behind me…
And stood outside in the cold.

And when I say cold, I mean 45 degrees, which is absolutely freezing by Florida standards.

I turned around to go back inside and realized something was very, very wrong.

I was locked out.

Somehow — in my half-asleep state — I had managed to turn the bottom lock.
Not only was I barefoot, I was also half dressed and standing outside questioning every life choice that led me to that moment.

No phone.
No coffee.
Just vibes and regret.

I walked around to the front door thinking, no problem, I’ll just use the keypad.

Wrong again.

The bottom lock was still locked.

Eventually — after what felt like an eternity — I made it back inside.
But wow… it was not even 5:10 a.m., and the day had already humbled me.

And that pretty much set the tone.

Somewhere in between all of this chaos, I try to fit in the gym — which I truly love and go to sometimes six days a week.

Fitting it in, however, is like solving a million-piece puzzle with missing edges.

Early mornings.
Late nights.
Quick workouts squeezed between appointments, showings, practices, and life.

But it’s not optional for me — it’s for my mental state just as much as my physical one.

So, a huge thank you to Flex Fitness for being open 24/7, because without that flexibility, it just wouldn’t happen.

And let me tell you something else — there is zero judgment there.
I can walk in looking like absolute death, and no one pays any attention.
No stares.
No pressure.
Just people doing their thing.

From there, the day turns into what most of my days look like:

  • Emails
  • Texts
  • Calls
  • Scheduling
  • Rescheduling
  • And fitting in showings wherever humanly possible

Some days it’s 6–7 showings squeezed into whatever windows we can find.
Some days it’s twice in one day.
Some days it’s both.

Because real estate doesn’t wait for calm mornings, matching socks, or coffee to fully kick in.

It happens between school schedules, work meetings, practices, gym time, and whatever else life throws at us — especially here in Crestview, where everyone is juggling something.

By the end of the day, I’m tired.
Sometimes I laugh at how ridiculous it all is.
Sometimes I can’t believe I locked myself outside before sunrise.

But honestly? I wouldn’t trade it.

I love helping people find homes in the middle of their own busy lives.
I love showing up — even when the day starts off a little… rough.

And tomorrow morning?
I’ll probably do it all again.

Maybe with shoes.
Definitely with coffee.
And hopefully without locking myself outside.
